The 2nd edition of the Orange eLeague, the only official eleague in Luxembourg, brought together 16 teams from the BGL League, the Promotion d'Honneur and the first division. At the end of the championship, with more than 480 matches played, the final victory goes to UN Kaerjeng 97.

Bertrange, May 27, 2022 - The eSport was in the spotlight this Thursday, May 26, in the magnificent complex dedicated to indoor soccer in Contern, The Loft. On the occasion of the individual grand final of the second edition of the Orange eLeague, the last six players in competition - among the 32 starting participants - were able to physically meet to compete in FIFA 22, gamepad in hand, surrounded by their supporters and a large audience.

Heading to the FIFA 22 Global Series

At the end of the day, "Ivanilson" Lopes Pereira (RM Hamm Benfica) took the top step of the podium ahead of Louis "LouisLux8" Trierweiler (Alisontia Steinsel) and Georges "LxbFIFA" Geraldo (Swift Hesperange). "Thanks to this victory, Ivanilson gets his ticket to represent Luxembourg at the FIFA 22 Global Series, said Joe Hoffmann, President of the Luxembourg Esports Federation. We are very hopeful that this talented player will go far in this very reputable international competition.

This second edition of the Orange League confirms our desire to integrate eSports into the heart of the sports community and to reach out to the football loving public. Organized for the first time in the form of a championship, the Team Edition pitted 16 teams from the BGL League, the Promotion d'Honneur and the First Division against each other. During the 8 weeks of competition, more than 480 matches (compared to only 70 last year) were played in the form of a tournament, with the aim of professionalizing the discipline.

At the end of this competition organized by the Luxembourg Football Federation (FLF), the Luxembourg Esports Federation (LESF) and Orange Luxembourg, it is UN Kaerjeng, represented by the duo of players Kevin "LastKing03" Vieira & Diogo "DiogoSantos26" Santos, who was crowned champion. In this final phase, it was opposed to the clubs of RM Hamm Benfica, second in the ranking with "Ivanilson" Lopes Pereira & Joe "MessiMaestro"

The competition could be followed on RTL Play as well as on Twitch, in partnership with Volkswagen Luxembourg and RTL.
