Press Release

Luxembourg, March 21th 2022

Orange Luxembourg launches the fifth season of its accelerator programme for young start-ups. Orange Luxembourg is launching the fifth season of its support programme for young innovative companies. This year's theme will focus on creating new experiences (AR/VR/metaverse), with an emphasis on new retail and in-store experiences, entertainment, sports technology, cyber security and healthcare. The winners will join the accelerator programme for the next 6 months and will have the opportunity to test their projects with the Orange Luxembourg teams.

Orange Luxembourg invites start-ups to apply for access to its accelerator programme. The selected projects will be able to benefit from the support of the Orange Group's experts and draw on its vast network of contacts and distribution channels. For these young players, it is also a unique opportunity to consider commercial agreements with the operator's teams and to benefit from unique opportunities within the global Orange Group.

Offering new experiences

Orange Fab is the largest international start-up accelerator. For this new season, the programme is reinventing itself with a contemporary theme: new retail and in-store experiences, entertainment, sports technology, cyber security and healthcare. Augmented reality, virtual reality and the metaverse will be highlighted for 6 months as challenges for the candidates.

Corinne Lozé, CEO - Orange Luxembourg

"Today, these technologies are progressively integrating many fields of activity. Their strong potential is particularly evident in the field of commerce and gaming. We are convinced that they can also contribute to transforming the commercial approach, allowing us to envisage new ways of creating links and exchanging with each other. Our wish, with this new season of Orange Fab, is to be able to explore these possibilities by supporting players who invest in these technologies, allowing their solutions to emerge."

Call for applications until 20 April

Applications are open until 20 April 2022. Five will be selected from those received. These start-ups will be invited to take part in a pitch competition to be held in front of a jury of Orange executives in early June. The winners will join the accelerator programme for the next 6 months and develop new projects with Orange teams.

Which start-ups will succeed EmailTree?

One of the last editions of the Orange Fab included EmailTree, a Luxembourg-based start-up that recently completed a €2.5 million fundraising round. This company has developed an innovative solution based on artificial intelligence (AI) techniques used to analyse the content of an email and generate a response. NLP (Natural Language Processing), NLU (Natural Language Understanding), and ML (Machine Learning) technologies are combined to offer significant productivity gains for customer email management.

Corinne Lozé, CEO - Orange Luxembourg

"Innovation is at the heart of our group's strategy. Through Orange Fab Luxembourg, we aim to support innovative Luxembourg players, essential drivers of the digital transformation of organisations."

Orange Fab is one of the many initiatives undertaken by Orange Luxembourg to support start-ups. Recently, in partnership with Silicon Luxembourg, the operator also launched a new season of "The Evelator", a series of video capsules broadcast on RTL and on social networks. In these, managers present their start-up in 30 seconds from the Pfaffenthal lift, the time of the climb.
