E-invoicing: a contemporary solution

October 11th, 2023 - 3pm
As you may have noticed, sending paper invoices is on its last legs. Just as our pay slips have gone electronic, as well as our administrative procedures with public services, many Luxembourgish organisations are now choosing to send digital versions of their invoices to their customers.
Orange is following this trend: for several days now, our customers can receive their invoices electronically if they wish. From 1 January 2024, it will be available to everyone. Why are we switching to electronic invoicing and what are its advantages?
An eco-friendly approach
An invoice uses around 5g of paper. That doesn't sound much. And yet, before we can hold that sheet of paper in our hands, a long production and logistics process is involved. To simplify, the paper invoice supply chain can be broken down into 4 major stages:
Growing trees and transporting tree trunks;
Making paper and ink;
Transport to the company;
Transport to our home.
All of this generates energy costs, CO2 emissions and specific industrial waste. So, in the context of environmental protection and the fight against climate change, it's a good idea to look for an alternative if one exists. By way of comparison, digital technology has a carbon impact 2.5 times lower than paper.
A smoother, more secure customer experience
Who hasn't wasted long minutes searching for an important document, sometimes ending up asking for a duplicate? With the dematerialised invoice service offered by Orange Luxembourg, there's no need to worry about organising things.
Switching to electronic invoicing not only means saving €2.50 a month, it also means that you can store and archive your invoices in a completely secure space. So you can consult your invoices at any time in your customer area.
Not sure if you're up to date with your invoice payments? Don't panic, in just a few clicks you can access their status, your payments, your due dates and all other important information. It couldn't be easier: just follow these 3 simple steps:
