Luxembourg City Film Festival Returns for Its 15th Edition

February 25th, 2025 - 3pm
On February 9, the team behind the Luxembourg City Film Festival unveiled the highlights of its 15th edition. The event maintains its guiding principle and will showcase a diverse selection of carefully curated films in advance screenings.
An exceptional cast
This year, the festival stands out with the presence of a host of renowned guests: visionary directors, leading actors, and emerging talents will engage with the audience about their works. The Luxembourg City Film Festival 2025 promises to be a must-attend event for all cinema lovers! 🍿✨

As every year, an international jury will be responsible for selecting a winner from the film lineup. And with a jury comes a presidency. This year, Iranian director Mohammad Rasoulof, currently in the spotlight with The Seed of the Scared Fig, will take on this role. He will be joined by other jury members: Trine Dyrholm (Actress, DK), Paul Laverty (Screenwriter, UK), Vicky Krieps (LU), Valerie Pachner (Actress, AT), Albert Serra (Director, UK), and Jeff Desom (Director, LU).
A coveted Grand Prix
In this 2025 edition, scheduled from March 6 to 16, an official competition featuring intimate narratives and universal themes will showcase nine works vying for the prestigious Grand Prix by Orange.
Audience Award by Orange
The jury will also have a say during this 15th edition. Spectators will have the important task of voting for the Audience Award by Orange. If their favorite film wins, their vote may allow them to win a year of cinema.
THE SALT PATH - Marianne Elliott
Good One - India Donaldson
Hard Truths - Mike Leigh
Your Monster - Caroline Lindy
Went Up the Hill - Samuel Van Grinsven
In addition, you can watch films from other categories such as Carte Blanches, SHOWCASE SERIES, the Made in/with Luxembourg selection, and many more.
Orange Luxembourg's favourite
Once again, Orange Luxembourg participates in the festivities by presenting its carte blanche supporting two significant films.
The choice has been made for Ma mère, Dieu et Sylvie Vartan by Ken Scott (FR, CA), a touching adaptation of Roland Perez's autobiographical novel. Starring Leïla Bekhti, Jonathan Cohen, and Sylvie Vartan, this film tenderly explores family ties and the quest for self.
Orange Luxembourg also supports TKT by Solange Cicurel (BE), a film it co-produced, exclusively offered to schools. Through the story of Emma, 16, this captivating narrative blends investigation and introspection as she seeks to uncover the mystery of her sudden hospitalization.
Orange Wednesdays
Are you an Orange customer? Do you love cinema? Perfect: every Wednesday, you can enjoy 2 cinema tickets for the price of 1 at all Kinepolis Luxembourg cinemas. Nice, right?
