What is an eSIM?

Orange Luxembourg is revolutionizing eSIM usage. Orange is here to support you in your digital life. What is an eSIM and what is it used for? An eSIM is simply the digital version of a physical SIM card. It is linked to a phone without the need for a standard SIM card.

You can opt for eSIM in the following situations:

  • a change of SIM card if you are already an Orange Luxembourg customer
  • a change of operator while keeping your number
  • opening a new line

Not all devices are eSIM compatible. We invite you to consult the list of eSIM compatible mobiles and tablets before opting for the eSIM option.

 

Thanks to the collaboration between Orange and Apple, you can now transfer your eSIM from your old smartphone to your new one, or convert your physical SIM to an eSIM on your current mobile or by transferring it to the new device. Orange thus becomes the first Luxembourgish operator to offer this service. Technically, both the old and new mobile phones need to be close to each other for us to perform the transfer easily and securely in-store.
