Orange Luxembourg awarded again the "Gender Equality & Diversity for European & International Standard" label

Gender Equity
Press Release

Luxembourg, March 8th 2022

In the context of International Women's Rights Day, Orange Luxembourg is proud to announce that its Gender Equality & Diversity for European & International Standard (GEEIS) label has been renewed. Through the promotion of equality between men and women, by allowing all sensibilities to express themselves, Orange Luxembourg acts responsibly to grow better.

This year, Orange Luxembourg has again had its "Gender Equality & Diversity for European & International Standard" recognition renewed. Created in 2010, the GEEIS label - for Gender Equality & Diversity for European & International Standard - evaluates and promotes companies with a proactive approach to gender equality. The renewal of the label recognises the efforts made by the Luxembourg operator to combat discrimination and promote equality between men and women within the company.

Facilitating women's access to positions of responsibility

The approach is fully in line with the Orange Group's policy. In Luxembourg, for the operator's 150 employees, these efforts are reflected in the establishment of a joint management committee, the promotion of women to positions of responsibility, gender diversity in all professions and equal pay. Orange Luxembourg is especially pleased to have more and more female engineers in the departments in charge of network management, even though the technical professions are still mainly male. The operator regularly highlights the women in its teams who have chosen a career in the telecommunications sector.

Allow all sensitivities to express themselves

Delphine Guilbert, HR Director - Orange Luxembourg

"It is important for our teams to offer a professional environment that values diversity and inclusion. We want to grow by offering the possibility for different sensibilities to express themselves at all levels of the company. In this way, we contribute at our level to the construction of a more open, fairer and more equal society. Diversity is also a powerful driver of innovation, allowing new ideas to emerge."

A commitment already recognised

This commitment by Orange Luxembourg goes back several years. It was already recognised in 2020 when it was awarded the "Positive Actions" label by the Ministry of Equality for Women and Men. This label rewards companies that implement, through a voluntary approach, a set of good practices in terms of equal treatment (salary, recruitment, training), equality in decision-making and equality in the reconciliation of professional and private life.

For the past six years, Orange Luxembourg has also been recognised as a "Top Employer" by the independent organisation Top Employers Institute, which compares the working conditions offered by employers with international standards. Among the criteria considered: talent management strategy, personnel planning, integration of new employees, training and development, performance management, leadership development, career and succession management, compensation and benefits, and corporate culture.
