Who will be the EA SPORTS FC™ 26 national champion? The Orange eLeague 2026 is getting ready

Press release

Press release

Octobre 30, 2025

The Luxembourg Football Federation (FLF) and Orange announce the 2026 season of the Orange eLeague.

The qualification phases for the only official national e-sports competition will take place online on December 13, 20 and 21.

A total of 32 competitors will have the opportunity to participate in the regular season, aiming to become the official national champion of EA SPORTS FC™ 26 and represent Luxembourg in international competitions.

Luxembourg, October 30, 2025 – It’s official: the 2026 season of the Orange eLeague, Luxembourg’s premier eSports competition, will be held in February and March 2026, with a final phase in April.
“We are very pleased to present this new edition, developed in close partnership with Orange Luxembourg,” explains Gilles Faber, representative of the Luxembourg Football Federation (FLF). “Starting today, we invite all interested players to register for the qualification phases. The qualification will take place on December 13, 20 and 21 and will select the 32 representatives who will compete in EA SPORTS FC™ 26.”

A Competition for Everyone

The first qualification day, December 13, will be open to everyone, whether Luxembourg residents or foreign nationals. In the past, the Orange eLeague has already welcomed Danish, Portuguese, and Belgian eSports players. The two secondary qualification days, December 20 and 21, will be reserved for Luxembourg residents, giving them the opportunity to qualify for one of the two divisions of the regular season.
“As long as they decide to participate, six players are already guaranteed a spot in the first division. These include the top 5 players from last season’s first division and the champion of the second division,” continues Gilles Faber. “For others, the race is open: 26 spots remain to be filled across the two divisions.”

Participants interested in qualifying can do so through a FLF member club by contacting them directly. They can also request to be connected with a club seeking players through the Orange eLeague website.

Who Will Succeed Ivanilson?

This season promises to be exciting in many ways. It will determine who will succeed the current (and four-time) champion, Ivanilson. The Luxembourg player has left the Atert Bissen club, where he previously played, and is now competing for Angers in the eLigue 1 McDonalds. He is moving away from the national championship, opening the door for a challenger to claim the title.
“We are delighted to see players we have supported for several years continue to grow and reach professional competitions,” comments Barbara Fangille, Head of Communication at Orange Luxembourg, co-organizer of the Orange eLeague. “Since the beginning of this journey, in partnership with the FLF, our goal has been to support the development of eSports and nurture local talents, with the hope of seeing them compete internationally.”

As a reminder, the season winner will have the opportunity to represent their Luxembourg club in the eCL League Phase. They will also be able to participate in the FC Pro World Championship Play-Ins.

New Features to Spice Up the Competition

Several new elements will be introduced this season.
The first concerns the team selection process, which will now be based on a draft system.
“This is an additional challenge, a first in Luxembourg, proposed by EA SPORTS. It aims to bring more diversity and challenge to the competition. In the past, players like Mbappé or Ronaldo could be found in most teams. Now, once a player is selected by a participant, they cannot appear in a competing team,” explains Gilles Faber. “Competitors will need to consider this tactically and choose their players carefully.”

Another innovation: during the regular season, matches will be played in a specially designed space for the Orange eLeague to ensure optimal connectivity for each player.

An Exciting Season Ahead

Like last year, the season will be promoted by a member of the Luxembourg national football team. This year, it will be Laura Miller, captain of Rout Léiwinnen. Matches will once again be streamed on Twitch, allowing a wider audience to watch.
“We are very happy to continue the journey we started with the FLF around eSports six years ago,” concludes Barbara Fangille. “Every year, we raise the bar and introduce new features to support the development of eSports in Luxembourg. This new season promises to be exciting and full of surprises.”
