Focus on the Orange Carte Blanche
This year, Orange Luxembourg has decided to propose the film C'est Magnifique by Clovis Cornillac for its Carte Blanche, which will be screened on 10 March at 6.30pm at Ciné Utopia. This film tells the story of Pierre who learns that his parents are not his biological parents and sets out to discover who he is and where he comes from. Raised in the wilderness, Pierre has never been confronted with society. He does not know the codes. He teams up with Anna, who helps him in his quest, and they meet a whole gallery of characters who are both funny and tender. But in the course of his investigation, Pierre will lose his colours, like a fading photograph...
The Audience Award for the Official Competition
Like the jury, you can vote and decide on the Audience Award for one of the films in the official competition.
Voting is open below until 11 March at 12am.
Daniele is a young man who lives on the edges of the Venice Lagoon. He worships barchino motorboats and dreams of breaking a speed record in clandestine and extremely dangerous races. A true sensory and cinematic experience, far from the postcard images of Venice.
Joaquim is at the end of his working life. He has played a lot of roles in his life: worker, immigrant, husband and friend. How will he do as a pensioner? This gentle road movie maps Portugal onto Manhattan, or is it the other way around?
Iran, nowadays. A chaotic, loving family is on a road trip across a rugged landscape, but to where? All of them are fussing over the sick dog and getting on each other’s nerves. Only the older brother is quiet.
A bourgeois Polish couple rents a luxurious holiday home on a dreamy Italian island. Their strict daily routine is broken when an accident happens. This drama will break their relationship which is only perfect in appearance.
Ukranian surgeon Serhiy is captured by the Russian military forces in the conflict zone in Eastern Ukraine. After his release, he returns to his comfortable middle-class apartment and tries to find a new sense of purpose in his life.
In a town in Mexico, three young girls play in abandoned houses, left behind by those who have fled. While their mothers train them to hide from those who could take them away, dark echoes of violence become an inescapable threat.
