Apple Keynote September 2021 - discover the iPhone 13 and other new products from the brand

5 month after its last Keynote, Apple again gave an appointment to its fans, impatient to discover the news.

iPhone 13: what’s new ?
As its predecessor the iPhone 13 will be available in 4 versions: the iPhone 13, the iPhone 13 mini, the iPhone 13 Pro, the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
You could find these smartphones from September 17 in pre-order or from September 24 in all Orange shops and on orange.lu.
In terms of design the iPhone 13 keeps the main lines of the lasts Apple smartphones. Note the diagonal arrangement of the photo sensors on the classical and mini version.
Apple nevertheless announces a noticeable change of the autonomy side with an improvement of 1h30 on the iPhone 13 mini and 13 Pro and of 2h30 on the iPhone 13 and 13 Pro Max compared to its previous smartphones. A great difference made to the iPhone Pro and Pro Max models is the long awaited addition of the Promotion system which enables an adaptive screen refresh rate from 10 Hz to 120 Hz.
On a photography standpoint iPhone 13 models don’t show a huge difference but we nevertheless can note the dual sensor 12 Mpx on the iPhone 13 with a wide and ultra-wide angle. The latter has also been expended to capture 47% more light. The 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max iPhone for their part have the same telephoto, wide angle and ultra wide angle sensors. The noticeable newness on this side is the addition of the Macro mode thanks to the ultra-wide lens as well as the night mode present on all the sensors. In video mode the 4 versions offer the Cinematic Mode that enables filming in Dolby Vision in order to have a cinema-like rendering.
The iPhone 13 models are compatible with the 5G, as our mobile plans.
The iPad mini is back: the new iPad mini 6
In terms of power Apple promises a great improvement compared to the last version thanks to the A15 Bionic chip. Another noteworthy announcement is the long-awaited arrival of the USB-C port with a significantly improved data transfer. The design is adapted to the 2 last year’s improvements: the iPad Mini is refined with rounded edges. The 8.3 inches screen is lightly bigger than the last iPad Mini with a 0.4 inches difference and is equipped with the Liquid Retina technology.

The iPad 9 will be available in Orange shops from September 24.
On the design level: no surprise. The iPad 9 resumes the codes of the previous model with a Liquid Retina 10.2 inches screen. The main differences are the addition of the A13 Bionic chip which should improve the performances and the enhancement of the photo sensors.
Apple Watch Series 7
A year has passed since the release of the Apple Watch Series 6 so some news are to be noted. The display will be more immersive thanks to smaller edges, a screen extended to them, and an improved brightness. With a slightly bigger watch dial Apple has also reworked the resistance of the Apple Watch Series 7 and the IPX6 certification which enables it to be water and dust resistant. Nothing can stop you now.

iOS 15 and iPadOS 15
Apple announces the creation of Focus which enables to concentrate on a predefined task by filtering some notifications and applications. Safari is endowed of a new design promoting a one-handed use with a new browser tab bar for example. Maps App is also offering a new experience of use with a 3D view or even more details in the driving mode.
iOS focuses on privacy with Siri assistant or also in the Mail App.Another great improvement is the possibility of meeting up with friends on Facetime even if they are using Android or Windows.
Finally some news from the iPadOS 15 side with the addition of Widgets to the homepage or even the App Library that already exists on the iPhone.
