The Luxembourg City Film Festival is back for its 13th edition

In 2022, the Lux City Film Festival brought together nearly 20,000 moviegoers. This year, the event is back for its 13th edition, which Orange Luxembourg is proud to support once again. The Lux City Film Festival is now considered a must in Luxembourg's cultural calendar and is gradually consolidating its position in the sphere of European festivals.
The event will be held from 2 to 12 March 2023. On the programme, there will be many screenings of various films: dramas, comedies, documentaries, cartoons... and from different countries. Cinémathèque, Ciné Utopia, Kinepolis, Neimënster... several key locations in the city will welcome film lovers during this festival.
Orange Luxembourg is supporting this event once again this year with the Grand Prix by Orange and the Audience Award. The Audience Award allows the public to vote for their favourite film among the different projects of the official competition. In addition to these awards, the VR pavilion will see the presence of an Orange production with "Eternelle Notre-Dame", a VR experience immersing the spectator in the heart of the famous Parisian cathedral.
An exceptional jury
As every year, an international jury will have the opportunity to select a winner from the new selection of films.
And a jury means a president. Asghar Farhadi (IR) will hold this position during this two-week period. He is a renowned director in Iran and has also exported himself with international productions, directing actors such as Penelope Cruz, Javier Bardem, Tahir Rahim and Bérénice Bejo. He will be accompanied by the sharp eyes of the other jury members: Marie Jung (LU), Niels Schneider (FR, CA), Nadav Lapid (IL) and Sylvie Pialat (FR).

These juries will have the important task of choosing 1 winner from the 9 films competing for the Grand Prix - by Orange:

Orange's favourites
VR stands for virtual reality. This new technology allows the creation of immersive films, making the spectator a real actor of the projected work. For the 6th time, the VR Pavilion will be in Neimënster to introduce the public to these new ways of understanding the visual and sensory arts.
The VR pavilion's eclectic programme will transport the curious from the present to the past with, in particular, the Eternelle Notre-Dame experience proposed by Orange. You will discover the Parisian cathedral as you have never seen it before, from its construction to its current restoration. What's more, it's free! So don't hesitate to come and visit us between 2 and 19 March.
This year, Orange Luxembourg is supporting "Chien Blanc" by Anais Barbeau-Lavalette as part of its Carte Blanche. The film, based on a novel by Romain Gary, deals with racial equality in the post-Martin Luther King United States.
