How to activate an eSIM during the setup of an iPhone or in the settings?

You are already an Orange customer and have just acquired a new iPhone; you can activate an eSIM during the setup of the iPhone.

Before You Start
Make sure that:

- You have both your current iPhone and the new iPhone on which you want to install the eSIM.
- Both iPhones are running iOS 17.2 or later and are connected to a Wi-Fi network.
- You have the latest carrier settings: go to Settings > General > About.
- Your old iPhone is protected by a passcode.

If You Already Have an eSIM on Your Current iPhone

During the setup of the iPhone, you can transfer your eSIM to the new iPhone via Quick Start or manual setup. On the "Transfer Your Phone Number" screen, select the mobile number to transfer and follow the instructions. If you did not set up cellular connectivity during the initialization of your iPhone or encountered an issue, go to Settings > Cellular Data > Activate Cellular Plan and follow the prompts.

Note: During initialization or in the settings, your eSIM will be automatically installed or connected to the network within a maximum of one hour. You don’t need to do anything. Keep the new iPhone connected to Wi-Fi and continue setting up your iPhone. If your eSIM is not connected to the network after one hour, please contact Customer Service.

If You Have a SIM Card on Your Current iPhone and Want to Convert It to eSIM on Your New iPhone

If there is an issue during the setup of the device, a screen saying "Complete the cellular plan setup in Settings" will appear. Continue with Continue.

Once the setup of your new iPhone is complete, go to Settings.
