Travel eSIM
The Hello eSIM app offers eSIM cards for travellers in its eSIM Travel section. It allows you to purchase and activate data plans in many countries without having to physically change your SIM card. This makes it easy to connect to the Internet when travelling internationally, offering a convenient, economical and flexible solution for staying connected wherever you go.
How does it work?
- Download the app from the Apple Store or Google Play Store
- Go to the eSIM Travel section
- Select your destination country
- Choose the data plan that suits you
- Pay
- The eSIM will be installed directly from the app
Note :
- Travel eSIMs only include data.
- The validity period begins upon the purchase of the eSIM and ends on the 30th day.
- Once all the data has been used, the eSIM will no longer be usable. To use the date again, you need to purchase a new eSIM.
- An eSIM can only be installed once, on the device where the application is installed
- Do not uninstall the app. If you delete it before installing your eSIM, it will not be recoverable. If you uninstall the app after activating your eSIM, you will still be able to use it, but you will no longer be able to track your usage in the app.

How do I set up my eSIM?
After installing the eSIM, go to your phone settings to configure your eSIM.
On Android
- Open your phone Settings
- Tap on Connections
- Select SIM Manager
- Select Mobile Data and set your Travel eSIM
- Disable Data Switching
Note: For Calls and Messages categories, you can choose to set your main SIM or disable it. If you choose to use your main SIM for these functions, you may incur additional charges outside your plan (according to the conditions of your main plan).

When should I activate my eSIM? Before I leave or when I arrive?
It is strongly recommended activating your eSIM before you leave so that you can enjoy immediate connectivity upon arrival at your destination. Please note that some destinations do not allow eSIM activation in their territory for safety reasons. Therefore, it is important to activate the eSIM before your departure to enjoy your data on site.
How to activate data abroad?
On Android
- Open your phone Settings
- Select Connections
- Look for Mobile Data
- Enable Roaming Data or Data Abroad
Note: To prevent your main SIM from consuming data abroad, set the Travel eSIM as the preferred SIM for data and disable automatic data switching.
On Apple
- Open your phone Settings
- Tap on Cellular Data
- Select your Travel eSIM
- Enable Data Abroad
Note: Be sure to check that international data is disabled on your main SIM.
How can I track my usage?
You can check your data usage and remaining duration directly in the app, under ‘My eSIMs’.
Can I top up an existing eSIM?
No, it is not possible to top up a Travel eSIM. If you have used up all your data or if your eSIM validity has expired, you simply need to purchase a new eSIM.
How many eSIMs can I have?
Most phones allow you to install between 5 and 10 eSIMs. Two can be active at the same time.
Can I send text messages or make calls?
Travel eSIMs are data-only and do not allow you to make calls or send traditional text messages.
To make calls and send messages using only data, you can use online messaging applications such as WhatsApp, Messenger, or Teams.

What about my main line?
Can I continue to use my main SIM card?
Your main SIM card remains active: you can continue to receive calls and text messages. The eSIM Travel is simply added as a secondary line.
Will I keep my WhatsApp number?
Yes, your WhatsApp number remains the same, even if you use an eSIM Travel to access the internet.
