How to install the Livebox 7?
1. Install your Livebox
For better Wi-Fi coverage, install your Livebox vertically and avoid placing it inside furniture, behind metallic structures, or screens.
For your safety, please follow the order of the connection steps:
1. Plug the power adapter into the Livebox and then into an electrical outlet.
Attention! Use only the power supply provided with the Livebox.
2. Connect the fiber optic cable to the optical box (fiber connection point in your home) and the other end to the Fiber port located below your Livebox.
Note: To access the port, first remove the green dust cap from the Fiber port. Also, remove the cap at the end of the fiber optic cable and connect the fiber cable to the port.
Connect the phone to the phone port.
If you have an adapter provided by Orange for your landline service, this adapter must be connected via an Ethernet cable to one of the Ethernet ports on your Livebox.
Connect your wired devices (computers, consoles, etc.) to the Ethernet ports.
2. Turn on your Livebox
Press the ON/OFF button. Wait about 3 minutes. When the lights are on and steady orange, your Livebox is operational.
Congratulations! The internet connection has been established.
If not, check that the fiber optic cable is properly inserted into the Fiber port of the device and/or the optical box (fiber connection point in your home). If the problem persists, contact Orange customer service.
If the indicator lights up in steady orange, it means your landline service is operational.
Attention! This light will not turn on if you have an adapter provided by Orange for your landline service.
3. Connect your devices via Wi-Fi
When the indicator is steady orange, you can connect devices via Wi-Fi (laptops, tablets, smartphones, etc.).
You will find your Wi-Fi network name (Wi-Fi Name) and the default password (Wi-Fi Key) on the sticker located under your Livebox.
Scan the QR code to connect directly to your Wi-Fi network with your smartphone or tablet.
You can also use the WPS button to connect your device without entering a Wi-Fi password (if your device supports this WPS protocol).
To do this, press the WPS button on your Livebox: the Wi-Fi indicator will then blink orange.
You have two minutes to connect your device; look for your Wi-Fi network name on your device and connect (no password is required within the given time).
4. Advanced configuration
If you want to access the advanced settings of your Livebox, you can do so by logging into the administrator interface via a web browser.
Enter http://192.168.1.1 in your web browser’s address bar.
Use “admin” as the username and the first 8 characters of the default Wi-Fi key (Wi-Fi Key) as the password (see the sticker under your Livebox).
Energy saving
The Livebox allows you to choose between two modes to reduce energy consumption. If you have scheduled a time period for eco or standby mode, your Livebox will exit this mode at the specified time.
You can exit eco or standby mode at any time by pressing the “Eco” button on your Livebox.
Eco mode: This mode restricts Wi-Fi usage to the 2.4 GHz band. Devices connected to the 5 GHz band will be disconnected but can still connect to the internet via the 2.4 GHz band. The "Eco" button light is on, and the other lights are off.
Standby mode: Deep standby saves more electricity than light standby, but all services of your box are cut off.
All lights are off.
