Voice over LTE

Voice over LTE allows you to make high definition calls via the 4G network in Luxembourg.

Voice over Wi-Fi

Voice over Wi-Fi allows you to continue to call and be called, even without mobile coverage.

Wherever you are in Luxembourg, at home or away, take advantage of VoWi-Fi (Voice over Wi-Fi) to make and receive voice calls from a Wi-Fi network, when your mobile phone is not receiving any mobile network.

Compatible offers

Voice over LTE and Voice over Wi-Fi are compatible with Orange Access, Connect, Elo, Light, Boom, Plus, Elite, Ultimate, Privilege, Premium, BeUnlimited, MoveUnlimited, Orange Entreprise, Orange Entreprise Contact, Orange Entreprise VIP and the Hello prepaid card.

Compatible mobiles

Only certain mobiles are compatible. The compatible mobiles are:

  • iPhone X, iPhone 8 / iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 7 / iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone SE, iPhone 6S / iPhone 6S Plus, and the following ones.

  • Samsung Galaxy A5, Samsung Galaxy S7/S7 edge, Samsung Galaxy Note 8, Samsung Galaxy A6/A6+, Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+, Samsung Galaxy Note 9, Samsung Galaxy A7, Samsung Galaxy S9/S9+, Samsung Galaxy Xcover 4, Samsung Galaxy A8, Samsung Galaxy S10e/S10/S10+, Samsung Galaxy J3, Samsung Galaxy A9, Samsung Galaxy J6+, and the following ones.

  • Huawei P20, Huawei P20 Pro, and the following ones (except Huawei Mate 20 Pro)

How to activate the service?

You do not need to install any application to benefit from the Voice over LTE or Voice over Wi-Fi service. You benefit from it automatically as soon as you have a compatible mobile phone and offer.

The Voice over LTE service is automatically activated if you have a compatible Android mobile and offer (provided you have updated your phone). If you have an iOS phone, you will have to follow the activation process below.

As for Voice over Wi-Fi, once the service has been manually activated on your phone, you can make and receive calls when your phone is connected to a Wi-Fi network.

Activate Voice over LTE on an iPhone:

Make sure you have updated your phone to the latest version and go to:

Settings > Cellular data > Options > Voice and data Enable 4G > VoLTE

Enable Voice over Wi-Fi on an iPhone phone:

Settings > Cellular data > Options > Wi-Fi calls on this iPhone > enable or disable the option

In order to use Wi-Fi Calling, you must be connected and authenticated to a Wi-Fi network.

You can use Wi-Fi Calling from any type of Wi-Fi network in Luxembourg.

Wi-Fi Calls are treated as calls on the Orange mobile network. The same pricing rules apply, regardless of whether the call is made on the Wi-Fi or on the mobile network.

Once Wi-Fi Calling is activated, your incoming and outgoing calls will automatically go through the Wi-Fi network you are connected to, without any action from you.

Your caller does not need Wi-Fi Calling to receive your calls or reach you when you have activated the service.

Billing

You benefit from the Voice over LTE and Voice over Wi-Fi service automatically and at no extra cost, as long as you have a compatible mobile and offer.

Voice over LTE or Voice over Wi-Fi calls are treated as calls on the Orange mobile network. The same pricing applies, regardless of whether the call is made over Wi-Fi or the mobile network.
